Johan Wessels – Camp Manager

Johan has excellent people skills and has applied these to his career in hospitality, where he has worked in a variety of places ranging from safari lodges to 5* International Hotels.
Johan is extremely passionate about wildlife and has a thirst for information that makes him a very attentive and knowledgeable host.
When Johan is not busy with guests, he is always planning his next adventure. He can be found with his rucksack, tent and camera, exploring somewhere new on foot or with his mountain bike.

Laura Thubron – Camp Manager

Laura is an adventurous and enthusiastic traveler alongside her partner, Johan.
Following her studies of Outdoor, Environmental & Sustainability Education, Laura discovered that her calling is to spend as much time outdoors as possible, and it is her greatest joy to show people the beauty and value of natural spaces.
Her many expeditions have brought her to work in multiple countries, including the Middle East and Western-Central Africa and have allowed her to exercise her love of photography, hiking, exploring new languages and trying new foods.

Hakim M.Kideme – Activities Manager

Mr Hakim M.Kideme was born and raised in the coastal Tanzanian town of Tanga.
His passion for the ocean began at Fundu Lagoon Resort on Pemba Island in 2003.
During this time, he was certified as a scuba diver and progressed through the PADI ranks of advanced open water, EFR and rescue diver, receiving certification in all three levels.
In 2008, he moved to One Ocean Diving Center in Zanzibar where he received his dive master training and certification.
In 2010, he undertook a lenghtly 2 months underwater exploration of most of the Tanzanian coast and finished in the remote islands of northern Mozambique.
From 2011 to 2015, he regularly led dives at Kimbilio Lodge in Kilwa as resident dive master.
In 2014, he was also certified as a DSD (Discover Scuba Diver).
Presently, he is working as activities director at Fanjove Private Island in the Indian Ocean off of southern Tanzania.
Hakim is very passionate about the ocean and eager to show how unique and wonderful and experience diving can be.
