The Serengeti, a corruption of the Maasai word "Siringut" meaning "endless plains", is known as the unparalleled mecca for wildlife lovers the world over. Stretched out across northern Tanzania and extending into Kenya as the Masai Mara Game Reserve, the Serengeti national park encompasses more than 14,000 square kilometers of untouched wilderness.

The southern part of the Serengeti eco system begins with the short grass plains that extend below a string of volcanic mountains (one still active) transforming into the tall grass plains and then the wooded savannah as you drive deep into the heart of this magnificent park. The Serengeti is abundant in predators, swarming with millions of herbivores, birds and reptiles; all of whose lives are entwined in the phenomenon known as the great migration.
